Clay Town Center naval aviation history

Clay County Location

Clay County is a growing community located in Northeast Florida. With the development of new expressways in the region, there is a need for new professional spaces and supporting services to better serve the residents, businesses and visitors in the Clay County area.

Celebrating a History of Service

This region has a proud history of service through the United States Navy. Air fields located in the area play an important part in our country’s history. Some of the historic airfields in the area include Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Air Station Cecil Field.

Cecil Field started as an outlying field of NAS Jacksonville, which would later become a pilot’s last stop before being assigned to combat in the Pacific Fleet or the Atlantic Fleet during World War II. Airfields like NAS Jacksonville, NAS Cecil Field, and Branan Air Field in Clay County, had a significant impact on the economic growth of Northeast Florida.

Proudly Serving

Clay County Residents, Businesses & Visitors

In 1999 NAS Cecil Field was decommissioned as an active naval base but the location continues to have a positive economic impact on the region as a civilian, public-use, joint civil-military airfield and industrial park known as Cecil Commerce Center and Cecil Airport.

In support of that proud history and the positive economic impact of the airfields in the area, the Clay Town Center will provide a central destination for professional and medical services, supported by dining, retail, hospitality and storage solutions. The town center will do its part to preserve the rich history of the Clay County region.

Clay Town Center is located at the intersection of Branan Field Road and Old Jennings Road (County Road C 220 A). The development will be completed in phases with the first phase already underway.
